A MAN 163 ex military reserve stock 4X4 truck cab was purchased in June 2012 for conversion to a live in truck for me. I then designed the exterior based on 1900’s rolling stock seen in India. My son Jake and I started work on the build in July

Windiws and doors were added and the inside fitted out, it took 7 weeks to complete so we finished in late August.

  7. Timber sizes 100 x 47 mm for frame work (standard construction timber) and 75 x 47 mm for roof hoops laminated in 12 mm strips. thanks for your comments

  9. Hi thanks for your comments,yes the frame work is strapped & bolted down to the lorry bed,
    the timber cladding should last a good ten years or more with regular timber treatment.
    the wood burner is a small Coalbrookdale cast iron stove, I heat water in a kettle on top.

  10. How kool is your truck i love the cladding how long would the timber last did you bolt the framework to the bed of the truck
    what type of wood burner did you use does it heat your water
