Hi to all, August  month 5 how time flies.

With a couple of weeks off to celebrate my 50 th birthday I thought it about time for firewood preparation for next winter, timber from a hedge lay carried out last winter/spring has sat in the yard in cord lengths (approx 4 feet long) for the last 6 months or so. One long days work carried out over 2 days (I am on holiday!)  and the end result as pictured below

Wood for the fire

A very satisfying sight. Logs! split and stacked, a wriggly tin cover will be put on top to keep the rain off. I am hoping this will be enough to see me through the winter, augmented with  remains from last year and a bit of roadside timber collecting.
